Located in one of Kyoto's most culturally significant parts of town, in a green and protected environment, yet very well connected to the city's extensive transit system, HANARé Eikando has undergone extensive refurbishment by award-winning architects to combine absolute comfort,luxury,safety and tradition.
Boasting beautiful views over the surroundings hills and valleys, HANARé Eikando, originally built in the ’30s and 130 m2 in size, was recently completely renovated and beautifully appointed.
The ground floor of our house offers a luminous, spacious open space that leads from the entrance, through the modern kitchen to the traditional Japanese tatami room, allowing you to enjoy the view on the small private Japanese garden (tsubo-niwa) throughout the area.
The bathroom area which we aimed to design with taste also overlooks the garden and completes the layout.
On the 2nd floor a peaceful sleep, lulled by the sound of a small stream running in front of the house, in one of the two Japanese tatami rooms should rejuvenate you after a busy day of sightseeing.
One room provides traditional Japanese bedding (futons), while the other a Western style double bed.
We also have an office area with a desk adjacent to one of the bedrooms.
Finally, by using the vast dressing and storage area, you should limit the clutter in the rest of the house.
All in all the compound comprises of:
One Western style bedrooms with a queen-size bed
One Japanese style bedroom with 2-3 futon sets
One bathroom with bathtub and shower room
Two separate toilets
One Dining kitchen area
One living area
One courtyard with a traditional Japanese gardens.
